Plans for 2011

As we move into our tenth anniversary we are extremely excited about our forthcoming films.

The Stylite: a matter of faith tells the story of Father Maxim who hopes to live atop a 140ft rock outcrop called Katskhi located in the central Imereti region of the Republic of Georgia.  If permission is granted from the Patriarch, he will become the first Stylite on the column in six hundred years.  The story will be revealed through a parallel narrative of an unknown pilgrim who is compelled to take a journey from the city to the pillar.

Correspondence  is an experiment of collaboration between a writer/director and a sound designer/composer who in normal circumstances would work together closely on a film.  The idea behind this experiment is like a musical call and response.  Each artist works solely within their medium to express their inspiration and then passes it on to the other who then responds.  We are interested to see how blind collaboration works.  We will dedicate a page to this project so that our progress can be followed.

The Silence  is slated to be our feature length film debut and we have decided to begin the pre-production process with a number of short trailers designed to bring out the story through interconnected pieces.  We plan to use them as promotional films to build interest and create a foundation from which we hope to attract investors.  In addition, we will shoot a number of short films to work out the thematic and technical challenges of the story.  These films will be available to watch on the official website.

Feather the Blade  as dawn breaks, two shadows beneath a scull head down to the water.  Lanterns swing gently in the breeze as their heavy footsteps upon the dock send ripples out into the bay.  With a splash the boat is in the water and they begin gliding out to sea.  The town recedes and the shadows begin their contemplation.  We are interested in documenting the spirituality and interiority of repetitious exercise.  As the world grows increasingly chaotic and intrusive we hope to reveal a place in which it begins to fall away.
